Sometimes when I find a yarn I love I know exactly what I want to knit with it. I can envision the pattern knit up it that beautiful skein. But…sometimes I have no idea what that gorgeous yarn should become. I know I love it and I know I must add it to my stash but sometimes finding the right pattern for that perfect skein of yarn takes a bit of time.
Here are five patterns I think pair perfectly with some of my favorite Twigs + Twine yarn colors.
1. Scottish Highlands Shawl by Kay Hopkins
I love the look of this shawl and I’m currently knitting it in the Twigs + Twine colorways Thistle and Granite Falls. I can’t wait to get to that lace border. This really is a gorgeous pattern and I also love the story behind what inspired Kay to make it.
2. Vitis by Lisa Mutch of Northbound Knitting
I love the contrasting stripes in this pattern and I can’t wait to knit this up in Granite Falls and Bloom.
3. Stockbridge by Ysolda Teague
Sometimes the best things are so simple. I love the no frill details of this cardigan and think it would look perfect knit up in Twigs + Twine Tweed Sock in Spice. I can’t wait to knit this up.
4. Hermione’s Everyday Socks by Erica Lueder
Sarah (@thenaptimeknitter on Instagram) knit these socks up in Wisteria and I absolutely love them. I think the color and the pattern worked so well together.
5. Persimmon Beanie by Abby Moreland
This pattern hasn’t yet been released but Sarah (@thenaptimeknitter on Instagram) did a test knit for the pattern using Twigs + Twine in Moonlight on Worsted. I love how this knit up in this pattern but think it would be gorgeous in almost any hat pattern.
I’ve linked to all of the above patterns so if you want to check them out just click on the pattern names. Except for the Persimmon Beanie which hasn’t been released yet. But I did link to Abby’s Ravelry store so you can check out some of her other patterns. If you’re stumped and wondering what to knit with that gorgeous skein of Twigs + Twine Yarn you just ordered, or that one you’ve had your eye on, there are five pattern suggestions and the colorway to go with them to get you started. Of course there are many more beautiful combinations and I could keep going for a while. Maybe you already have a pattern and yarn combo in mind. I’d love to know what you’re dreaming of making with Twigs + Twine yarn. Leave a comment below and let me know.
