Happy Birthday

No…it’s not my birthday.  Or anyone’s in my family.  Or even a friends birthday.  But it is a birthday of sorts.  It’s the birthday of The Handmaker’s Bag.

You see…this isn’t my first little bag company.  No…I had another.  It was called Lillie Laine Bag Co.  And while that business served me well for what I put into it I could see it evolving and changing and going into a different direction than what I had intended when I started it.  It no longer fit what I was making.  So I knew it was time to let it go and start something new.

I have always been a handmaker.  I’ve done just about every kind of needlework I can think of.  Quilting, cross-stitch, rug hooking, embroidery, crochet, knitting.  You name it I’ve probably tried it.  And while I love them all for different reasons I think of myself mostly as a knitter.  Knitting is what I love best.  But because I’ve tried them all I can relate to what each one of those crafts need in terms of a place to keep it while it’s in progress.  Isn’t that always the struggle with us crafters?  Where do we store all our WIP’s until we get them finished?

Well…that’s where The Handmaker’s Bag comes in.  In trying to answer that age old question I came up with a line of what I think are fabulous projects bags that would be perfect for any handmaker.  They are roomy inside and have design features that make it easy to find those little bits and bobbles that always seem to get lost.  Like stitch markers and scissors.

I hope you will follow me on this new venture.  I’d love to have you along for the ride.  Journeys are always better with friends.  And while I am sad to see Lillie Laine Bag go I am excited to see where The Handmaker’s Bag takes me.  Won’t you come along too?

Until next time…

Create Joy Everyday
